“BELFAST INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF PERFORMANCE ART - 2013

The 2013 event was launched on the 1st of March by a collaborative performance between Alastair MacLennan & Mariel Carranza. This work was devised and developed between the artists before the Festival and they worked together for four days prior to their performance. They made a durational performance, which started at 10.00am and ended about six and a-half hours later.”

Carranza created an installation with elements used in her past years of performance, inviting artists, friends, and viewers who had played an inherent role through collaboration and viewing.

Carranza interacted with the elements on a durational frame, inviting Claudia Bucher, Dino Dinco, Rochelle Fabb, Kristina Faragher, Douglas Green, Asher Hartman, Alejandra Herrera, Patrick Kennelly, Carol McDowell and Dorian Wood to participate by coming onto the stage to do a construal of what they perceived, understood, and inferred from the content, context or meaning of Carranzas’ actions. Selecting the actions that spoke to them, these guest artists performed "construal" as it unfolded.
